Juxtaposing images

JuxtaposeJS is a fun tool that allows you to juxtapose 2 images. It is interesting to compare how the same scene is portrayed by different artists, in different media. Here are some examples juxtaposing mural paintings from the Long Corridor at the Summer Palace, Beijing with woodblock prints by Japanese artist, Utagawa Kuniyoshi:

Here we see the famous oath of brotherhood in the Peach Orchard.

In the famous scene from the Fengyi Pavilion, Lv Bu’s passion for Diaochan moves him to kill Dong Zhuo, falling into the "beauty trap” set by Wang Yun.

Showing his loyalty, Guan Yu leaves Cao Cao, and returns to his Brothers…

…killing six generals on his way.

Liu Bei makes a narrow escape, and his horse proves its worth. Note the different colors of the horses.

Here we see Liu Bei's famous visit to the reclusive strategist, Zhuge Liang.

Guan Yu defeats the enemy, in yet another magnificent show of force.

Here the physician Hua Tuo treats Guan Yu’s arm while he plays Go.
